Lake Baccarac
Have you ever dreamt about catching the next world record?
Updated Fishing Report
Lake Baccarac is the place were your dreams can come
true. Baccarac was stocked with Florida strain largemouth bass in
1978. Like lake Huites, Baccarac started as a
incredible
numbers lake. Over the years with fishing pressure and the natural
life cycle of a lake it now produces some real giants. The lake record
is 19.10 lb. caught by Bruce Knutson in 1993 with at least one more
fish over 19 lb. caught by Ray Hill of Phoenix a few years later.
Baccarac is more then 25 miles long and
between
25,000 and 35,000 surface acres depending on its water level. There
are lots of islands, points, and coves to keep any fisherman busy
for years. In a days fishing at Baccarac you can expect to catch 10-30
fish per day with at least a couple of Trophy Bass every trip. There
are fish bigger then 10 pounds caught daily and fish much larger lost
daily. The lake is full this year because of the late season rains.
The high water levels and freshly submerged cover should make for
an excellent spawn this year, keeping this incredible lake fishing
strong for years to come.
